¥38 is fair. Over ¥50 is not.
That is what a Chinese player told us at ChinaJoy, 90 seconds after picking up a Western indie roguelike.
He also asked: "Where is the pain before the payoff in the build-crafting?" And: "Add sound effects."
Price, pacing, payoff, sound. In a minute and a half. That is a better playtest report than most studios pay for.
The lesson is not the number. It is that Chinese players will tell you exactly what they think, if you ask them where they are: at the expo, on Bilibili, in your Steam reviews.
Most Western studios never ask.
